Named after its founder, Kobayashi Manabu, the temple has stood for hundreds of years, training its students in various ancient martial arts, and also acting as a home for both students and teachers. The temple is watched over by the numerous elders and monks, along with Grand Master Kobayashi Masashi, while they train children as young as four years old in the ancient ways.
Surrounding the temple lies miles of mountain range and dense woodland, and aside from the small nearby town of Isheti, it is completely cut off from the outside world. While the elders appreciate the peaceful lifestyle this solitude brings them, some of the younger, more rebellious students often try and sneak out into Isheti, to escape the constant rules and tedious order of the temple.
Most students are brought to the temple to begin their training around the age of eight years old, though some as young as four have been enrolled before. Contact with parents, family and friends is restricted to holidays and emergencies, and is only allowed if the elders feel the student has earned this privilege. The elders also grant some older, well behaved students the reward of going into the village sometimes, but other than that, the only ones who leave the temple are those who are expelled, or those rare few who are sent on the odd mission.
After graduating by passing a series of tests set by the elders, a student may either leave the temple for good, or stay and continue to live under the order of the temple. These students are known as shinobi, and are put into groups, depending on their ability.
Group Ichi are of the highest ability, and are allowed the most privileges. It usually takes around ten years after graduation for even the best shinobi to reach this level.
Group San are of a medium ability, not quite the standard of the Ichi.
Group Ni consists of shinobi who have only just passed their test. Shinobi of this level are no longer treated as students, but are not given the rights or respect of the Ichi. A majority of Shinobi in this group are aged at least twenty.

Yie jumped across the gap between the buildings, cursing silently under his breath as he landed harder than he intended, narrowly avoiding the long slide down the roof. Crouching as he slowly moved across the roof, he pulled out one of his knives and slid it under a tile, gently prying it up and taking out the moneypurse kept underneath. Spotting someone moving out into the courtyard he quickly replaced the tile and performed an overacted spinning backfil onto the grass next t the building "Evening!" he called out, sliding the purse into his robe

Kenji paused and turned to face him, though he couldn't see him, Kenji recognised his voice, he let out a sigh. "You realise your dramatic jumps and flips are wasted on me." He said flatly. "You were up to no good on that roof, where you not? Or were you replacing a loose tile?"
Meanwhile, Shigeo poked his head out of the door and peered both ways to check the coast was clear. Seeing that it was, he quickly signaled behind him, and two bronze, and long-legged girls snuck up behind him. "Shhh!" He hissed, to silence their giggling. "If I'm caught then you won't be able to come back here!" This silenced the girls, and the trio quickly sped to the outer wall of the temple. "Bye bye Shi-shi!" The girls giggled as he lifted them over the wall and carefully dropped them on the other side. Once they had gone, 'Shi-Shi' sighed and slumped against the wall, a smirk on his lips as he thought he had gotten away with it.

Kenji sighed and shook his head, deciding there was no point in asking such a clown why he had been up on the roof, or what he had just snuck into his pocket. With a second sigh, he strode off into the evening fog that was settling on the temple grounds.
Shigeo's eyes immediately narrowed on Yie. "Shutup Yie!" He hissed, as he looked around to check there were no nearby monks who could have heard him.

Shiegeo grinned back at him and rolled his eyes. "But you're the guy who gets stuff, surely you could go fetch your own lass from the village if you wanted?" He paused and pushed himself up and away from the wall. "Fine, I promise to share with you next time, and no more shouting that I let girls in, deal?"

"Absolutely." Shigeo stretched his arms over his head, while a confident smirk played on his lips. "I got the second for her ass, the first for her chest. You know, for variety of course." He nodded seriously.

"Indeed." Shigeo agreed, his mind flashing him images of earlier. "Anyway," he shook his head and returned to reality. "Before you go calling me greedy and selfish, I deserved both of them, especially seeing how the monks have me doing all night training for the next few days." He looked up at Yei. "Have you gotten out of it somehow, or are you stuck doing it too?"

"Rich girl...?" Shigeo thought hard for a moment. "Oh, chan-chan... nah, she's kind of... wierd... not my type at all if I'm honest." He smirked and shook his head. "Though I'll ah, tell her you're interested next time I see her, shall I?"

Shigeo gulped and lowered his hands slightly. "Very well, point taken, I'll leave it to you to tell her." He laughed, just as the announcement bell rang clear across the temple grounds, and he turned to look towards where the sound was coming from. "I wonder what they want..." He sighed sleepily.

"Hopefully." Shigeo sighed, his mind wandering back to his 'pillows' again as he walked slowly towards the main plaza in the centre of the temple, where all the students and monks were currently gathering.

Sanny was stretching as he made his way into the plaza, his robe still crumpled from having stolen a quick nap in his room after a long, hard workout
